Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

  • Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, organization name, and role when you create an account.
  • Financial Data: General ledger entries, invoices, bank account details, transaction records, and other financial information you input into the platform.
  • Escrow Data: Deal terms, party information, milestone schedules, disbursement details, and related documentation.
  • Payment Information: Billing details processed through our payment partners. B1ND does not store full credit card numbers.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, timestamps, browser type, device information, and IP address.
  • Cookies: Session cookies for authentication and preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Process transactions and manage escrow accounts
  • Send transactional communications (receipts, alerts, security notices)
  • Provide customer support
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
  • Comply with legal and regulatory obligations
  • Generate aggregated, de-identified analytics to improve the platform

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your financial data to build advertising profiles.

3. Information Sharing

We may share your information with:

  • Service Providers: Third parties who assist in operating the Service (hosting, payment processing, analytics), bound by confidentiality agreements.
  • Escrow Counterparties: Limited information shared with other parties to an escrow deal as necessary to fulfill the transaction.
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect the rights and safety of B1ND and its users.
  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to affected users.

4. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256), access controls, audit logging, and regular security assessments.

While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.

5. Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) Notice

To the extent B1ND is considered a "financial institution" under GLBA, this Privacy Policy serves as our privacy notice. We collect nonpublic personal information ("NPI") as described above and do not share NPI with non-affiliated third parties except as permitted by law.

6. California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) Rights

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose
  • Request deletion of your personal information
  • Opt out of the sale of your personal information (we do not sell personal information)
  • Non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Financial records are retained for a minimum of 7 years to comply with accounting and tax regulations.

Upon account termination, your data is available for export for 30 days. After that period, data is deleted from active systems within 90 days. Backup copies may be retained for up to 12 months for disaster recovery purposes.

8. International Data Transfers

The Service is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your country.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice on the Service at least 30 days before they take effect. The "Effective" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
